/The Installation view of “ Kogane-cho Bazaar 2011”
This site was illegal brothels in the past. Images of the context in which the sculptures has been
installed—the surface of the water, or scenes from the riverbank—have been imprinted on the
surfaces of these sculptures. The sculptures get lost in the landscape, as if they have disappeared.
These sculptures show a ”past” that has been cut out of time and frozen, and a “present” which
forms a physical context that is in a constant state of renewal.
