Self-portrait as absence

2021 / Alminum、UV print, Tree
1900×570×4mm / Extremely Cold Art Festival 2021
A sculpture of only the outline of a person is caught on a tree branch.
This is a sculpture with my self-portrait printed on it,
Its central part is hollowed out, leaving only the outline.
Most of the engraved surface is a void containing anonymity.
You can see the scenery on the other side of the portrait outline, and the wind passes through.
The sculpture reflects the reality that I am not there, the current global pandemic of Covid19 situation.
The sculpture as my avatar, is a modest act that evokes and blurs the boundaries between visible and invisible, existence and non-existence.
